Vircon Limited (a member of CTI Group) Attends HK Buildings Department BIM Exchange, Shares Practices on Smart City and BIM Integration.

On September 3, 2025, the Hong Kong Buildings Department hosted a successful stakeholder engagement session at the Hong Kong Central Library. Experts and industry leaders gathered to discuss the refined roadmap for BIM adoption under the Buildings Ordinance, featuring demonstrations on openBIM standards, digital vetting tools, and smart city integrations.

Dr. Tim Huang, Head of Innovation and Training at Vircon Limited (a member of CTI Group), was invited to speak on “Smart City: Interface with Common Spatial Data Infrastructure Portal for Smart Retrieval of Essential Development Data to Streamline Early Design Process”. Through three technical demonstration sessions, Dr. Huang elaborated on how openBIM data standards can interface with the Common Spatial Data Infrastructure (CSDI) to enable intelligent retrieval and efficient application of development data.

This presentation demonstrated CTI’s BIM and smart construction expertise, alongside its commitment to compliance, quality, and sustainability. We will continue collaborating with partners to drive innovation and digitalization in construction.
