In consideration of electromagnetic shielding protection and structural safety, most exteriors are metal shielded shells, paired with high-voltage shielded cables with high isolation characteristics to achieve the goal of low electromagnetic radiation for the whole vehicle.

◉    Service Background

Electric vehicles contain various high-voltage electrical and electronic products. In consideration of electromagnetic shielding protection and structural safety, most exteriors are metal shielded shells, paired with high-voltage shielded cables with high isolation characteristics to achieve the goal of low electromagnetic radiation for the whole vehicle. Hence, whether the shielding effect of the high-voltage cables is good or bad is vital as a whole. The relative measurements include: shielding performance of cable, transfer impedance measurement, contact resistance measurement.

CTI can also conduct isolation testing of automotive electrical and electronic products. Due to the fact that high-voltage electronic products also uses low-voltage circuits for high-voltage control and system sensing, they will contain both high-voltage and low-voltage circuits at the same time; this makes high isolation between the two circuits extremely important in the design.

◉    Test Site Introduction

In 2017, CTI Electronic Technology Division established an Automotive Electronic Components Testing Laboratory in Ningbo. Then in 2019, expanded its scale in another more comprehensive laboratory in Kunshan, which not only obtained CNAS accreditation in early 2020but also incorporated an all-new design and materials to better provide a unique, high quality testing environment.

  • Its U-shaped design allows for easy maneuver of forklifts and bulky samples, enhancing the turn-over rate of test items. Forklifts can enter the laboratories directly and it is also very convenient for heavy samples such as new energy battery packs.
  • Uses electric sliding doors and elevation platformsflooring can withstand weight up to 2000kg/ m2
  • The floor is laid with highly corrosion-resistant and scratch-resistant hot-dip coated steel sheet with a coating layer of zinc, aluminum and magnesium (ZAM plates).
  • Equipped with 1000V/400A and 1000V/200A power distribution cabinetswhich can be used to power new energy samples and loads during testing
  • Uses imported high-quality ferrite and absorbing cotton with good fire resistance and not easily breakable or deformed.
  • The temperature can be set directly to the circulating cooling water, convenient for heat dissipation for new energy samples and loads.
  • Equipped with 3m*2.5m testing tables which can withstand up to 1000kg,convenient for testing larger new energy products.
  • Handheld transmitter for immunity tests has a variety of single-point testing antennas which can also be used for testing on single frequency points.
  • Testing Fixtures are safe, reliable and highly sensitive, customized antenna clip is convenient to operate, move and store.
  • The control room has a high-definition display which can monitor the dark chambersand is installed with high-definition cameras and a voice interaction system, allowing clients to communicate directly with the engineers during debugging and modifications based on real-time data.
