New Certification Updates for January:

1. The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) decides to extend the latest date of concurrent running of IS 1293:2005 and IS 1293:2019 up to October 23rd, 2023.

2. On December 19th, 2022, the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) issued the voluntary guidelines on parallel testing in BIS CSR certification. Now only mobile phones are allowed as a pilot starting from January 1st, 2023 for six months. Critical components (e.g. cells, batteries, adapters) and mobile phones can be tested and registration submitted in parallel.

3. The Australian Communication and Media Authority (ACMA) published on December 8th, 2022, allowing labelling through QR codes as an alternative to the original RCM logo. If using a QR code, or similar thing, if the relevant link is to information on a website that displays the RCM prominently.

4. On December 29th, 2022, Resolution of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus № 916 dated 27.12.2022, entered into force. According to Resolution № 916, the Belarus Energy Efficiency Certification will be suspended from January 1st, 2023 until a special decision by the Belarus government.

5. The Colombia National Spectrum Agency (ANE) published Resolution 737 of 2022, allowing Wireless Access Systems (WAS) to use the 5925-7125MHz frequency band, indoor only.

6. The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) announced that the use of the frequency bands 477.0125MHz-477.4875MHz and 477.5250MHz-477.9875MHz by Personal Radio Service (PRS) devices is only allowed until December 31st, 2022.

7. The Saudi Arabian regulatory authority Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) has recently changed its name to Communications, Space & Technology Commission (CST).

8. The Ministry of Information and Communication (MIC) has issued Circular 24/2022/TT-BTTTT on new electrical safety standard QCVN 132:2022/BTTTT for ICT and ITE products. This regulation takes effective January 1st, 2024 and is based on IEC 62368-1:2018.
