GB/T 39498-2020 “Guidelines for the use and control of key substances in consumer product” was officially implemented on June 1, 2021. This standard is also known as the Chinese version of REACH in the industry. The EU REACH regulations contain the control requirements for SVHC and Annex XVII (restriction part). Compared with the requirements of EU REACH, the requirements of GB/T 39498-2020 are similar to the control requirements of Annex XVII (restriction part) of the EU REACH. Although this standard is a recommended national standard, the industry is paying high attention to it at present.

For hazardous chemicals in consumer products without restriction requirements in china, this standard refers to the restriction requirements of foreign standards such as the EU REACH Regulation ((EC) NO 1907/2006), RoHS Directive (2011/65/EU), EN 71-9 Safety of toy - Organic chemical compounds - requirement, EN 71-12: 2013 Safety of toys - N-Nitrosamines and N-nitrosatable substances, and Ecological Textile Standard Oeko-tex100-2017, to put forward restrictions requirements on consumer products in China.
