SAI, Social Accountability International organization, is a non-governmental, multi-stakeholder organization, whose mission is to advance the human rights of workers around the world. Its partners are to advance the human rights of workers and to eliminate sweatshops by promoting ethical working conditions, labor rights, corporate social responsibility and social dialogue.

The SA8000 standard is the central document of our work at SAI. It is one of the world’s first auditable social certification standards for decent workplaces, across all industrial sectors. It is based on conventions of the ILO, UN and national laws. The SA8000 standard spans industry and corporate codes to create a common language for measuring social compliance

Functions of SA8000 Certification:

1.To strengthen the establishment of policy and procedure in the organization; to effectively manage corporate social responsibility within the scope of the control or influence; to improve the relationship between employers and employees.

2.To prove the organization's policies, procedures and operational measures to comply with the provisions of the SA8000 standard.

◉ Note:

1.Surveillance Audit: After obtaining the certificate, the certificate is valid for 3 years; according to the SAAS certification procedure, the certificate must undergo 2 surveillance audits within the validity period to maintain the validity of the certificate, and the surveillance audit visit method is a semi-announced window period of 8 weeks.

2.Re-certification Audit:Enterprises shall apply for re-certification audit to the certification body 6 months before the expiration of the certificate validity period, and both parties shall sign a new certification agreement and start a new round of certification process.
