New Certification Updates for August

1. Malaysia SIRIM announced on July 10th, 2022, the continued issuance of the interim approval with 1 year validity for IPv6 cellular devices without WIFI interface.

2. Malaysia SIRIM has updated requirements for Product Certification License (PCL) and Product Certification Scheme (PCS). Whereas before the certificate holders can be factories and manufacturers, now only local importers are allowed. Certificates previously approved under factories and manufacturers of foreign companies are unable to be renewed and the local importer must apply after the certificate expires.

3. Saudia Arabia SASO has already started RoHS requirement for small household appliances. Products placed on the market before the implementation dates are allowed a grace period of 365 days until July 4th, 2023. The next category implemented are large household appliances which will start October 2nd, 2022.

4. Starting July 1st, 2022, Saudi Arabia SASO set validity of Shipment Certificates (SCoC) as 60 days.

5. Brazil ANATEL issued Official letter nº 265/2022, originally only certificates of products with no modifications that expired between March 6th, 2020 and July 31st, 2022, could apply for renewal without retesting and providing internal/external photos. Now, the coverage has been extended to certificates expiring before October 31st, 2022.

6. Brazil ANATEL published three new Acts pertaining to the technical and operational requirements for 5G NR Technolgy.

7. Since June 1st, 2022, Kenya CAK has allowed Short Range Devices (SRD) to use WiFi 6E (5925-6425MHz).

8. Israel MoC issued amendment No. 5722-2022，effective July 7th, 2022, the main change is enabling WIFI 6E (5.945-6.425GHz) for Wireless Access Systems (WAS) and Radio Local Area Networks (RLAN) products, based on EN 303687 standard with max EIRP 200mW limit.

9. India TEC issued notification on July 1st, 2022, extending the validity of Mandatory Testing and Certification of Telecommunication Equipment (MTCTE) certificates from 5 years to 10 years. Effective immediately.

10. On July 13th, 2022, Consumer Product Safety Office (CPSO) issued a new version of Consumer Protection (Safety Requirements) Regulations (CPSR) Information Booklet.
