New Certification Updates for July

1. India TEC extended the deadline for products under MTCTE Phase III and IV to comply with requirements from July 1st, 2022, to July 1st, 2023. Also, ILAC accredited test reports from foreign laboratories issued within 2 years was accepted until June 30th, 2022, but now can be accepted until June 30th, 2023.

2. Brazil ANATEL will only allow renewals of certificates for products with no modifications that expire between March 6th, 2020 and July 31st, 2022, to renew without retesting and providing internal/external photos until July 31st, 2022. Applications need to be submitted before July 31st, 2022, if this method of renewal is to be used.

3. Brazil ANATEL issued Act 7869 which defines the technical requirements for ONT (Optical Network Terminal), ONU (Optical Network Unit), and OLT (Optical Network Line) for optical fiber networks with passive network standards GPON, XGPON, XGSPON and it will become in force starting August 10th, 2022. Main changes include adding XGPON standard, adding XGSPON standards, updating ONT GPON standards and including the wavelength test requirement for GPON/XGPON/XGSPON optical transmitters.

4. The Malaysian SIRIM-ST label already incorporated QR Code. Old labels already on products remain valid and can be used until stock is finished.

5. Singapore CPSO updated standards for medium risk Controlled Goods in the Consumer Protection (Safety Requirement) Regulation in Circular CPSO-310522-05. Effective dates are as below:
For new registrations - From 1st June 2024
For renewal of registration - From 1st June 2025

6. Colombia CRC published Resolution 148/2022 which extended the frequency range allowed for wireless microphones from 470-512MHz to 470-608MHz (EIRP 100mW).

7. Korea NRRA issued Regulation No. 2022-12 which will be implemented on January 1st, 2023. All Equipment under testing (EUT) with a simulated cylinder diameter of 1.2m*1.5m in height (including the test periphery) can choose a 3m or 10m radiation site for testing, which is only applicable to local laboratories in Korea.

8. On June 24th, 2022, TISI had officially announced the mandatory standard TIS 62368 Part 1-2563, the safety requirement of audio/video, information and communication technology equipment. With implementation of this new standard, all certificates under current audio/video standard TIS 1195-2536 will be automatically withdrawn on Decemeber 21st, 2022.
