New Certification Updates for March
1. The Telecommunication Engineering Centre (TEC) made amendments regarding Phase IV products.
-Mandatory date for EMC and Safety test/Certification extended from Febuary 1st, 2022, to July 1st, 2022.
-ILAC accredited test reports from foreign laboratories issued within 2 years can be accepted.
2. The Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) has published Decision No. 180 updating the HS codes for 19 products listed under TR CU 037/2016 RoHS, mostly being household products such as luminaries, washing machines and power supplies, etc. This Decision is already in effect.
3. The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) now allows certifcation of WIFI 6E for Short Range Devices (SRD). The report standard should be Draft ETSI EN 303 687 and products certified with the WIFI 6E function disabled before will need to get new certificates if they want to include the new frequency.
4. The Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) in Saudi Arabia released new updates and now allows the 5925–7125 MHz frequency band for WIFI 6E products.
5. There is no official notice yet but The Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Technology (MTIT) confirmed that the certificate validity is extended from 1 year to 3 years. Effective now.
6. The Instituto Federal de Telecomunicaciones (IFETEL) is now accepting applications for the homologation of devices that use 5G in the frequency band 3450-3550MHz.
