1. Wastewater Management

Our wastewater mainly includes industrial wastewater produced in the process of laboratory testing and domestic wastewater produced by office and living activities. During the reporting period, we revised the Wastewater Discharge Control Procedure to standardize the effective management of the Company's wastewater treatment, discharge and monitoring. We strictly abide by the Law of the People's Republic of China on the Prevention and Control of Water Pollution, Comprehensive Sewage Discharge Standards and relevant local regulations and standards to discharge wastewater and regularly carry out wastewater monitoring (at least once a year), so as to meet the discharge standards and resolutely put an end to excessive discharge behavior. At the same time, we implemented the water pollution prevention and control system according to the Environmental Protection Management Measures, and treated the waste water, and then discharged it into the municipal pipe network. In 2022, the Company has strengthened the management of wastewater discharge, requiring all companies in the territory to install flow meters. Up to now, 29 companies have completed the installation.

Our performance in 2022:

total industrial wastewater discharge: 88,807 tonnes.

2. Exhaust Gas Management

We strictly implement the requirements of relevant national or local laws and regulations and environmental supervision and management departments. We discharge waste gas through waste gas treatment facilities to achieve the emission standards. We conduct comprehensive management of waste gas emissions according to the Environmental Protection Management Measures, requiring each subsidiary company to choose process technologies and equipment that do not produce or produce less waste gas, regular monitor of waste gas (at least once a year), strictly control pollutant emissions, and shall not exceed the discharge permit approval of total emissions limit, and strengthen the inspection to avoid causing the unorganized emission of waste gas. We equip the laboratory with the corresponding ventilation system and facilities according to the regulations, involving the operation of volatile organic compounds, which are carried out in the normal operation of the ventilation cabinet. We strengthen the leakage and detection of volatile organic compounds in each production section, timely cover all kinds of containers for chemicals in storage, and minimize volatilization of volatile organic compounds.

Compared with 2021, the exhaust gas testing in 2022 covers all emission outlets, and the Company expanded production, so the exhaust gas emissions increased relatively.

In 2022, our performance:

NOx emissions: 1.09 tonne

SOx emissions: 0.69 tonnes

Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) emissions: 3.80 tonnes

Particulate Matter (PM) emissions: 2.90 tonnes

3. Waste Management

The waste generated by the Company mainly includes chemicals, test samples, organic waste, waste liquid, paper, plastics, office waste, electronic waste, etc. Compared to traditional industries, we produce less waste, but we focus on waste discharge and management.

We have implemented the Measures for Environmental Protection and Management and strictly managed the waste. We set up a solid waste management ledger to trace and query the solid waste. According to the nature of the classification, the waste is classified into general waste and hazardous waste (including medical waste). In accordance with relevant laws and regulations, we organize HSE training for legal entities, general managers, chemical procurement personnel and chemical users to ensure that relevant personnel have sufficient ability to use and handle hazardous chemicals in an appropriate, safe and standardized manner. In 2022, due to the Company's expansion of production, the amount of hazardous waste emissions has increased compared to 2021.

Waste classification

Processing method

General waste

Establish management procedures for classified release, classified collection, classified transportation, and classified treatment, and ultimately transfer them to municipal waste treatment institutions for treatment.

Hazardous waste (including medical waste)

In accordance with the national Regulations on the Safety Management of Hazardous Chemicals and other regulations and policies, the management system of the Measures for the Safety Management of Hazardous Chemicals is formulated to standardize the use and treatment process of such chemicals. Hazardous waste shall be stored separately and classified from general waste, and qualified professional units are entrusted to transport, utilize and treat solid waste. As for medical waste, we strictly follow the Regulations on Medical Waste Management, transfer the medical waste to a special medical waste treatment company for unified treatment. We also strictly record the treatment process to ensure that all waste is reasonably disposed of.

In 2022, our performance:

Hazardous waste 751.5 tonnes

Non-hazardous waste 2,166.42 tonnes

Recycled Non-hazardouswaste 283.58 tonnes

Note: The statistical caliber of non-hazardous waste data is the owned property and leased property.
